Design Process | How it all works.

Our design process was developed with our clients in mind. You have ideas of how you want a space to function and we have experience on how to, not only bring it to life, but to build it to last. We want to meet with you in order to review your vision, identify your needs, and plan a solution for your vision. Below you will see a brief explanation of the typical design process we have developed to help ensure that your project is accomplished properly, efficiently, and to your complete satisfaction. At Kontz Landscape we are educated, experienced, and we build with the future of your property in mind.

We Want To Talk To You About Your Needs |

The process begins with a discussion between our clients and our designer. The designer asks a series of questions pertaining to client’s immediate and future goals, as well as problems that need to be addressed such as drainage, inadequate lighting, or poor soil conditions.

We Want To Take A Look At Your Property |

The next step is for the designer to analyze the property. The house, existing vegetation, patios, driveways, and other site elements are measured and evaluated. Views both into and out of the property are considered. Digital photographs are taken to document existing site conditions.

We Will Put Together A Concept Plan For You |

From the site analysis a base map is done that includes the existing site elements (buildings, vegetation to remain, hardscape, etc.) The designer then develops the concept plan that combines the information gathered during the needs analysis and blends that with the existing site elements. Our designer meets with you to present the concept plan and solicit your feed back.

We Will Issue A Final Plan To You |

After the review of the concept plan revisions are made and a final plan is presented along with a proposal to complete the landscape project.

How Long Will The Process Take?

A concept plan can take two to three weeks to develop after the design contract is signed. The final plan may take an additional two weeks depending on the revisions required. There are exceptions made per special request, so call if you have a need for a rush design.

Why Do I Need To Think About A Budget?

As with many construction projects the decisions about size, materials, and scope of work effect the total cost of a project. Working with existing plantings, patios, etc. can substantially reduce the cost of the project. We do the best we can to evaluate the needs analysis against your budget, and provide a firm estimate for the project once the design work is complete.
